I had the not so joyful experience of messing with a neighbor’s recently acquired Galaxy Tab tablet. The poor thing was running Android 3.2 and as such the newer Google apps couldn’t even be installed. The worst part is that Samsung had completely abandoned that model, so I needed a crash course in installing the OS myself.
After messing with 4.0.4 (which worked fine), I unfortunately decided to explore further and so I went into custom 4.4.4 roms, which all turned out unstable unfortunately. So 4.0.4 I went back to. Coming from iOS on my mobile devices, I must say Android seems like a lot of a mess, but I can appreciate the openness. And the tablet itself is actually just fine, hardware-wise.
